I found a ppfd meter called ppfd meter in playstore. It needs to be calibrated, which is a learning curve, but works very well. It's free.

Whenever you "push the boundaries" you need to measure, not just go by a arbitrary height number. No offense to Ezzjaybruh but any phone app is only as good as it's calibration. Different brand and models of phones have different sensors and an app can't correct for that automatically. Even smudges and dirt on your phone changes the reading. I have tried four different phone apps and they all need calibration (Photone was the most inaccurate with my lights before calibration). Luckily the apps were equally accurate after calibration. So choose a app based on it's features and user interface because they all will need to be calibrated. My favorite is "PPFD Meter". Luckily my light manufacturer provides lumens/PPF conversion numbers for their lights.

Depends man. If you’re running autos or what, look into DLI or daily light integral. I recommend downloading this app called Photone to everyone. It’s a free download and purchase for a light meter that gives you a PPFD read out in umols. This has been tested from third parties against the gold standard apogee meter. It’s within 10% across 0-1000 PPFD Use that, it’s extremely helpful to see where your light drops out and any gaps in light intensity. You can push up towards 1000 PPFD in flower for photos, but I’d recommend autos being around 650-800 maybe, because it’s a longer light cycle it doesn’t need to be as intense
