Reverse osmosis

Does anyone recommend a Reverse Osmosis filter? What are the advantages and disadvantages? Currently my tap water is 0.8/0.9 EC so not sure what I'm feeding my plants Any advice is greatly appreciated Thanks

That is quite a high EC for tap water so can see your troubles. Hopefully it is just an excess of calcium in the water but you never know. I would try any 5 stage on amazon you can find... Usually they give a gallons/day rating or litre/hour rating and you choose what you need by how much water you use. Sometimes the small units used for fridges are good enough for a small grow. Bare in mind if using RO water you will have to add back CalMag for your plants but at least you know thats all thats in it. I hope this helps, good luck

As @braverheartgenetics, and @papa_t, said. With that high a Ec straight from the tap it's probably the best option. Make sure your nutes are for soft water and not hard water when you use Ro water.

Don’t try to PH straight RO or test your RO water with a digital pen. The pen will aimlessly drift and not give you a reading as there aren’t enough particles in the water for the pen to electrify and get a reading. If you’ve tested straight RO with your digital PH meter please do re calibrate your PH digital meter. Cheers 🤙
