Not quite as simple as that, there are a number of factors that will determine how "purple" a strain will go, if it will even go purple at all. I wouldn't particularly recommend dropping temps until the ripening stage as anything below 67 will start to slow growth and you don't want that until growth has mostly stopped, manganese can no longer uptake via root system below 64 also, this is detrimental during flowering. Once your buds hit the ripening stage, give them 3 days of 0IR (Infra-red), or what I do is 3 days of pure blue. This sends the plant into a terpene overdrive as the plant can sense winter coming and puts all its reserves into making shit smell dank to attract any possible last-ditch pollination, myrcene which is responsible for orange-like smells of cannabis starts to degrade at 67. This is when you wanna slam the colder temps at night. After the 3 days of blue/0IR, you should do the 72 hours of complete darkness keeping temps around 60F, and ALSO rip the humidity down as low as you can 25-30%RH, one last stress, 3 days of darkness signal to the plant confuse it to hell and it will store ALLLLL remaining starches/sugars into the root zone for a hibernating winter. This will help with smoothness greatly. Water fully during this period, greater water content allows for a longer dry, longer=slower=smoother. Personally cure in a refrigerator and find it keeps taste and smells like no other. Good luck brother

It’s like asking how long do I need to lay out in the sun every day to get tan.. Some ppl never will tan, some ppl need just a little, some a lot.. it’s genetic man. But night time temps around 60-65 are likely gonna do it if it’s got the genetics to.. don’t wanna be too hot with lights on either IMO. You’re simulating the end of summer and fall conditions where temps gradually fall in day and night alike

Oh Chloryphyl degrades below 67, every plant is different. Chlorophyll (greens) Xanthophylls (yellows) Carotenoids (oranges) Anthocyanins (reds) Every plant is different, I think around 56 most plants start to take real damage, got some nice results at 60-62.

In all honesty the purple will most likely come from the genetic make up and the specific phenotype you’re growing. While certain environmental conditions such as (pH/substrate acidity, cold temperatures, nutrient availability, etc) can affect colors, but not as much as you might hope. Although from what I’ve experienced, dropping temp down to the 60° f range, along with cutting nutrient supply toward the end of cycle to encourage “fading” has produced some positive effects for me but never any situation where green flowers to complete purple, just hints here and there. The leaves on the other hand are easily able to change from being green to other colors such as yellow/orange/red/purple/black!

some strains do it naturally But mine did it out doors around 10c or 50f Don't know if that's an option for yea. bring in cold outside air. if not I would not worry about it. it does not add anything from my understanding. Plus waist of hydro if you gotta pay for a AC unit to cool that low. Best of luck

want to have the day and night temps lower. day 70f night 65f. then everyday lower night temps 2f. when you are at 55f leave the temps there. you will get the purps and not hinder flowers. 🚀
