Should I transplant now or later?

I have transplanted one auto before and it was successful. It was grown and harvested but was a different strain (Royal Dwarf Auto). I have packed the soil just right to allow me to turn the plant upside down and have a firm grip of the plant. Should I do this later, or now?

I feel like it’ll be less of a shock to do it while it’s just sprouting.. I don’t mess with autos often but most ppl say to start it in its final pot.. so waiting awhile would seem to be more of a shock if the roots start to build up around the outside of the container you’re in. At that point they’ll have to work to grow out into the new environment, but if you do it before that happens they would hardly notice.. that’s what makes sense to me at least

@depplover49 I would wait until the roots are visible at the bottom before attempting to transplant Do you use mycorrhizae? it's great for root health and when transplanting is the best time to use it

2nd half. Its also good to note for future autoflower grows, you should try and start the seed in the pot you plan on fishing the plant in. Can put 2L coke cola bottle cut in half on top of the sprouts area to make a mini green house just on one part of the mediums surface to help it out. Later removing it and paying close attention to watering as its easier to loose track of how much you watered in a bigger pot and the little plant won't use it all up fast enough and can drown or get some root rot. Gotta keep the oxygenation in that root ball up.

From my understanding and experience its best not to transplant autos. I did this in my current auto grow and they started flowering way earlier then expected. I also did it in an outdoor auto grow and they did not seem to mind it to much and got a good amount of bud off of them. Its the uncertainty of what they will do or if they will feel shock and affect your grow. Granted if you need to do anything like this, it is better to do it now vs later. Its also a good idea to use every tool your have to avoid any root shock like microbial additives/inoculants. Good Luck!
