Greetings fellow gardeners. Need some advice and tips on how to control the stretching in the pre-flowering phase

Graduate the reduction of light, this should keep stretch down slightly. I find the huge jump to 12/12 induces a huge stretch, where as if you graduate the light reduction, i.e. 16/8 for a week, 14/10 for a week then 12/12. I hope this helps, good luck

Stretching when unexpected, is usually because there isn't enough light or the light is too high. But choosing short indica strains for your set up would be a must.

Having mote intense light should help stop the internodes from being as far apart.

Thank you it makes sense and has been tried in all cycles. I'm more interested in techniques that can stop the plant from overstretching its internodes

If your using the SCROG method, weaving/tucking in and out of the net after 12/12 switch is the best option for the first week or so, then let it grow up a bit to develop your even canopy. Happy Growing!
