I don't see a problem with the "trunk" touching the medium.
If anything it may drop more roots down from that area, very much like a tomato.
Could be a bonus opportunity to make a large root mas in a short period of time.
The main issue you will have is the leaves getting splashed and exposed to wet condition.
This is how a lot of soil/substrate based diseases are spread in plants.
I would pluck the lower leaves when it's bigger and water carefully till this can happen.

Best keep branches from touching ground it give bugs a rout to get on the plant and could cause moisture mold problems where it touches the soil

Is the cold outside temperature (and slightly low tent temp) stunting my plants growth?They aren't looking as fat and healthy as the white widow autos I did last summer at this stage - is it the strain, the temperature or something else?
Tent temp is consistently around 23/24 degrees c. Lights may have been a bit closer for WW veg (have moved light closer now)

PURPLE HULK deficiency's or just a strain look? See below to notice the abnormal look of first few leaves growth. The smaller two are different strainThis is Purple hulk auto Fem # 2. I had problems with this strain my first grow, course some due to my own accord. The two tallest ones are them.
