I guess depends on the water supply your using for one! A lot just use tap water (me) which is way to high and burns the plant if you don't ph down

Are you talking about soil PH? I don’t test my soil because I know exactly what is in it I make my own soil with wood ash chicken poop vegetable compost etc. I do think it is important to check the ph of your soil if you are sharing land frequently gardening the same spot or using store bought soil these circumstances tend to have poor quality soil and amendment is usually necessary Certain plants prefer higher or lower ph like blueberries and if you are growing them specifically you will care about soil ph

it is still essential to ph the water and maintain the soils ph for best growth. I keep soil ph at 6.5 the entire way through when growing in soil.
