The starting tds of your water is included in your total tds of your nutrient solution. For example if your water is 120ppm starting and you want to mix nutrients to 500ppm then you can only add 380ppm of actual nutrients. This is why some people prefer to use ro water in hydro. I adjust my feed according to what my plants look like rather than measuring ec and all that though. A lot of factors in the environment contribute to how high or low of a nutrient dose your plants will want.

Yes they are in! Thats why a lot of growers start using osmose water , the PPM or EC can now be taken by nutrients the plant is asking for. Happy growing!

if what you add is at same dose (ml/l or g/l etc) then it stays the same. "TDS" it is a weighted average... add the same concentration, it stays the same concentration.

are you asking if you add up numbers to make your ec/ppm quota? example: reservoir has 300ppm top up feed has 400ppm and together they make 700ppm your target range. and you want to know if this is how you do it? or if you just add in 700pm is that the question?
