Wtf happened?

Wondering if anyone can help me understand why one plant grew out so stretched and with unformed buds while the other from same seed packet appears normal. Is this just a weird pheno? The strain (NLTxGelato) is a new one so I'm not sure how stable the genetics are.

Hey Growmie, I just had this happen with a Bruce Banner Auto, it grew so tall, and the buds were super unformed as it was growing, the stems were long and weak and it eventually broke. Turns out it was just the pheno, I'm growing the same strain now and it grew the correct way. So to sum it up, it happens sometimes, doesn't matter if it's an autoflower or a photoperiod even though it does seem like the photoperiod genetics are a bit more stable at times. Feel free to shoot me a holler if you ever need any help, I'd be honored to assist you. Hopefully, this was helpful, and remember ... "Happy Growing" and "Free your mind one puff at a time".

Terrible genetic instability, quite common in auto flowers and why I will never grow them again..... low yielding junk. They have nothing to offer over what can already be achieved with far superior photoperiod plants, except higher electricity costs. Do the maths........ using a fairly typical 12 week cycle .......... Autos 12 weeks at 18 hours = 1512 hours of lights on time. Photos = 4 weeks at 18 hours = 504 hours, plus 8 weeks at 12 hours = 672 hours for a total of 1176 hours of lights on time. Growing photoperiod plants will save you 336 hours of lights on time over the same 12 week cycle. I know which electricity bill I would prefer and whose "carbon footprint" will be smaller!

looks like the autoflower re-veged during bloom, lol... thnk i had one do that... was scraggily with little single calyx buds that got super frosty.. but tasted like shit. closer look at lanky one may just need a lot more time.. i see long white pistils all over. So, it may yet surprise you with well-formed nugs. Ah, they both ahve a bit of time left i see now. autos are more erratic per seed pack than photoperiods, on average. if maxiizing space is utmost importance, pop ore seeds than you need and cull the runts when you can safely identify them or space is needed.
