Toping auto flowers

Thanks for the help all. This is my first indoor grow. Grew one auto outdoor last year amd really enjoyed it! Turned out amazing! The leaves have looked a little weird since the start but as they grow bigger they all stretch out and look normal but yes autos can be a bit weird I have learned. I have also been doing some LST and pulling branches down and out and in those pictures they were just bouncing back and havent stretched out much so it caused it to look different.

At this stage you would just be cutting off bud sites. I would only do that to the lower popcorn buds if you want the plant to focus on the buds closest to the light.

Oh PLEASE don't top your auto! Autos don't like that and especially not in pre-flower!!! They are literally programmed to do what they're going to do and if you interrupt that programming, it could be disaster. I had a similar height problem with my Tangerine Dream... I just LST'd the hell out of her as best I could and it actually really helped develop bigger buds all over. Make sure you're bending PLIABLE stems (I tried one I THOUGHT was pliable and ended up HSTing it - thankfully with no ill effects). My plant, if I followed all the twists and turns of my LST efforts, would have been 50" in a 5 gallon pot in a 60" tent... She is now giving me a BOUNTIFUL harvest! Just LST!! And good luck!

as 4leksz said, try some LST. It looks like you have some room next to your plant, if you can bring that main cola down to one side you could see some better lower node development 👌 Good luck.

Autos are not good for topping in late flower phase. I think a better solution for you is to LST technique them down so you have more space upward. Hope this can help Best Regards

You can, but take it a bit lower, down to the 10th node maybe, as it will still shoot some after topping. Not sure what is going on with your plant, it looks a bit weird, but then again, it is an auto, so that probably explains it!
