I am thinking of cutting all of the smaller and lower branches below line i drew I am going to cut down all the stuff. This is day 53, in terms flowering stage is it OK to still cut some branches? On th photo from the top you can see how many tops will remain more or less.

You can. But personally I would move that line down another 25% and cut below that.

I want to lead with I totally get where you're coming from on this plant. It's stretched beyond the cherry zone of your light and the bottom half to third of the plant is getting crap light that is only going to produce flower fit for making edibles or extracts. Your view from above looks like you still have some canopy room in your corners, with some careful and creative cropping I think you could lower your light a fair amount and those areas will do better if the cropping doesn't totally shade them out. Consider SCROG growing if you grow this one again.

Why? Some lollipopping of the lower and inner small stuff, yes, but why reduce the amount of tops? It will just reduce your harvest hugely. Remember too, your plant needs as many leaves as possible so as to be able to produce the energy she needs to grow her biggest and best flowers. Reducing the amount of tops will not cause the remaining tops to grow any larger than the genetic program of the plant. You may as well harvest as many tops as there are now, otherwise it is more or less a waste of time and effort for your plant to have grown this far already. If you are keen for doing any such topping techniques, it really should be started early in veg and well before flowering commences. Removing too much of the plant during flowering can induce a "metabolic shock" and possibly cause undesirable results such as stagnated growth, weak growth, stunted growth and the biggie, hermaphroditism. I would suggest some well considered light lollipopping at this stage, very little top removal (and preferably none at all), leaving as many leaves in place as possible and leave the major pruning techniques to your next grow and with plants in mid veg. The worst time to do any sort of drastic pruning is during flowering. Hope this helps,............ Organoman.
