Yes getting a ph meter is very helpful. I would recommend staying away from the really cheap ones. You get what you pay for rings true.

you don't need to, but it help i personnally check my tap water pH every 6 month with colorimetric ph test (paper or liquid), it's rather stable around 8 so i just have to add 1 ml of ph down per 8l of water to reach 6,5 7

Calmag overdoseI was stoned and accidentally added way too much calmag to my distilled water when watering yesterday. I meant to add 2 ml into a gallon but instead added 20 ml. I poured 3 gallons of Distilled water through today trying to dilute. Am I screwed now? Is my plant going to die?Week 4

Anyone tried or has experience using Food Grade Phosphoric Acid as a PH Down?I bought a bottle of certified Food Grade Phosphoric Acid (85%)? The PH Down from GH, and they use food grade phosphoric acid in their product (generalhydroponics.com/products/ph-down-liquid/). Has anyone tried this? Any tips? High ppm in drainageI flushed coco two times with 8-10 litres with CalMag (200 ppm) and it does not help. You can see in my comments to the last weeks of the diary that it doesn't matter how much ppm I water the plant, it is always 2-3 times more ppm in drainage.What should I do?a year ago
