Forgot to alter pH

Calamaris
Calamarisstarted grow question 4 years ago
Hi I forgot to alter the pH. I already have some issues (I think pH? Check picture). What’s worse, overwatering or too high pH? Do I need to flush ASAP or wait till next watering cycle? The pH of the water I used is 7,7 and I have organic potting soil so is it a big deal or not?

Over watering is watering everyday. You could pour 5 gallons of water through her everytime as long as you let the medium dry in between waterings. And that wouldnt be over watering. Over watering is never letting your medium dry. And eventually there is no oxygen left for your roots so they start smothering then rotting. So really bad formyour babies. Ph, without the proper ph then uptake of certain elements does not get taken up to the plant. Just as bad, but a real high spike up or down of ph can do some realmbad things to your babies. So, their both equally important to plant health and max harvest in the end

It is and it isn't. Batten 6-6.5 is where the roots can gain access to all the nutrients, too high or too low and they won't be able to absorb what they want but forgetting once or twice isn't going to make a major issuse. Are you feeding nutrients yet, they look like they want more 👍🌱

Hello, In this young stage i think overwatering will be your more damaging thing, many soils, peat pods etc are at a neutral ph or with soil have many buffers in place to help deal with water ph differences. But as the plant gets older and has more roots and if you begin a feeding regimen the ph'ing will be your most important thing. Many living soil growers or all organic grows don't need to obsess over ph the way a bottled nutrient system or hydro grower would, but it's still important to know the in going water and also to check the runoff occasionally to verify its running in a reasonable range. You can also get an idea of soil ph by taking a couple scoops added to distilled water let sit 24 hours and then strain till clear and then check the ph of the water which should give you a good estimate. Happy growing. ✌️

Hey Mate, Just relax, 7.7 is not completely oft. If she's healthy otherwise, she should take it like a champ👍 until the next feeding. To be honest, I think if you flush such a young Damsel you would probably drown her. Good luck. OimRausch
