Curing- and wondering when buds will smell like buds again

So this is my first cure- I dried 1 plant so far. The room went from smelling like bud to hay. I understand this is normal. I am on day 2 of curing. When does the bud start to smell like real pot again? Miss that smell?

Curing is a pain. But worth it. You can go anywhere from 2 weeks up to 2 months depending on how far you want to bring out certain flavours. But for add shelf life to your bud. You want at least a 3 week cure under her and it'll extend the shelf life and will get rid of any planty smell. For terps you go as far as you want with what you want to get smell/taste wise out your bud. So when they go in the jars you want the RH steady you can get 2 way RH packs on amazon for curing or if you hold a steady rh around 60% you should be fine. You want to burp the jar 1-2 times a day for the 1st week to 10 days depending how much you bud is dried before hand and then once a day and then longer and let the smell build and open for a few minutes until you get to a point you do it every few days. It so depends how long you want to cure Also try keep it cool don't let the temp go above 21c. In a dark cool press or in a bathroom press (avoid presses with hot pipes running under or through them) But 2 weeks is good enough to get rid of the plant smell but certain tones need more. So, it'll all down to pref. Good luck.

As a test sample your bud when you finish drying. Then take another sample after each week of curing. This will teach you how it changes with more curing and you can determine how long you want to cure. You get the biggest change during the first week then less each week after. Sampling every day it is hard to say when a smell goes away since it's all shades of gray. Generally longer cure is better but it depends on your patience. My "happy spot" is about three weeks.

Hi! Keep the humidity in the jars above 55%, best 58 to 62%. If it sinks below 55%, you destroyed the terpenes. So all the taste is gone. Some flavors like banana for example tend to develop after 2 months of curing. For me, when the weed is nearly finished, the last bud in the jar will smell like a ripe banana. :) So try to keep this rest humidity that is necessary in the jars and you will be fine after a while. Keep on growing!
