Seed still not sprouting

From my experience a black seed that hasn't opened is a sign of too much water. I personally do not like the paper towel method as I find it too easy to keep the seed to wet, causing it to rot. I much prefer to soak seeds in water for 24 hours. Then I plant them.

If it hasn't cracked in the towel yet . I would try it in a glass of room temp water. Wait a few hours see if it sinks . If it does wait until it cracks usually within 24hrs for me . If it doesn't crack then would just bin it . Is it a freebie from grizzly ?

You seed started light colored and now its dark which makes me think it is starting to rot. After she cracks open if you don't see a tap root right away its not a good sign. Got a bad seed is all. Nothing you could of done differently. bad seed or improper storage. sorry for your loss
