Cat piss? Not the strain....

Amandus
Amandusstarted grow question 2 years ago
So I've been having these brown spots, thinking bugs or aphids or.... but I spotted a neighborhood cat around our yard today, marking its territory elsewhere on the yard. Could this be cat piss sprayed on the leaves?? I wouldn't put it past this fella.... but not sure. Thoughts?

humm hard to say. Male cats do spray to mark territory, but its a mix of other things not just piss. I feel you would be able to smell the piss if it was it. plus if the cats are not male its not spray from them. It does resemble water dmg on leaves a bit, but in my experience they do not get super crispy and make holes. A fungus of some sort could be the issue or cat pee. I also have a feeling it could be something in the root zone as well like wet roots soaking in stagnate water. I'd give the plant a rinse off in water "in the shade not direct sun" and if you don't want the cats aorund there you can place dog hair and citrus peals aorund everything as they are not a fan of that. You can also apply a generalized sulpher powder/spray on the leaves for a broad spectrum fungicide. Good Luck & Happy Growing. **disclaimer, multiple people are answer all questions as there is a contest called GOTM, when a user is selected as the answer they get a point. High Amandus, It looks like these leaves are sunburned. The leaves were probably moist during a hot moment of the day. A few years ago I experienced the same kind of problem with my outdoor grow 1 day after watering the plants during noon. The bottom leaves that became wet from wattering with a hose had the same kind of sunburned spots on it. Happy Growing! 😋

If your looking to eliminate it as a possibility put up a fence and try the citrus thing. Side note, no one is notified if you tag them or reply to this question, growdiaries operates different in the questions part of the web page. Eggyones I'm not trying to win votes with a disclaimer, most users have no idea its even a thing and its time people are honest about it. You seem butt hurt, might wanna ask yourself why as its legit over nothing.

question, are your plants under a tree or tall shrub or something? does it rain in the morning and get real sunny and hot quickly?

It is an older male cat. I'm mainly looking to eliminate it as a possible cause. Not threatening the crop, but I'd prefer pee free bud.

Could be Septoria leaf spot. I find potassium bicarbonate works well as a fungicide. 1tbsp per gallon. I find it usually gets spread from a nearby tree that is infected. But it could be from anywhere as fungus spots can travel a long way.
