Why would the leaves turn purple? Is it just part of it’s “fall foliage”?

@NaturesPace purple leaaves can come from cold night time temps nutrient deficiencies or in Your case this is purely from genetics and this particular phenotype is showing its beautiful coloration some breeders will actively select these phenotypes so that future generations will also exhibit similar coloration

High bro, This is totally normal at the end of a grow. Your plant is ready for fall and is using all her energy to make big, fat and juicy buds! Look at my Blue Hash diarie, this girl became all purple in the last 2 weeks. Beautiful colours! Happy Harvest! 😋

Leaves turn purple due to a few different reasons. The main two reasons are genetics and cold temperature. Temperatures from the high 30s-low 50s(°F) can cause parts of your plant to turn purple, just like your hands turn colors when outside in the snow for too long without gloves. The other is due to fading while flowering. Fading is caused by plants mobilizing and using nutrients in flower and is usually a sign that your plant is getting close to the end of it's life. Which also means that your buds will be done sooner rather than later! I hope this helps.

Like the other said genetics and environmental factors. The leaf curling or canoeing is a sign of heat stress and the purple could be a sign of temp drops or genetic expression. I would not worry to much about it but would aim to try and lower your day time operating temps from 33c down to 28c if possible. One simple option for this is lights out in the day when its hot and lights on in the evening/night when its cooler. Its also the time hydro rates are cheaper as well for me. Good Luck & Happy Growing. **disclaimer, multiple people are answering all questions as there is a contest called GOTM, when a user is selected as the answer they get a point. you can exagerrate it, if you want, with temps below 68F at night. if avoiding this stops the color-change, you know it's more environmental but can be genetics too. can exacerbate the displayed trait, if you want too. When it starts reflecting blue and red light (to create a purple color), it's absorbin less PAR. My 2 cents is to not exagerrate the effect, and if genetic enjoy the pretty colors, but this trait likely negatively impacts photosynthesis. i'm not a fan of it, but meh, small potatoes from what i can tell. (limited effect)

Genetics my dear Watson....Granddaddy Purple (or GDP) is a famous indica cross of Mendo Purps, Skunk, and Afghanistan. This California staple inherits a complex grape and berry aroma from its Mendo Purps and Afghanistan parent, while Skunk passes on its oversized, compact bud structure. GDP flowers bloom in shades of deep purple
