Growing speed different in same strain different plants

DojaMon
DojaMonstarted grow question 2 years ago
Two of my plants are the same strain (easy bud) but growing at totally different speeds. I am using 9x 9W LED bulbs as supplemental lighting to the sunlight that comes through a big window. Is it the amount of sunlight the plant gets that’s the limiting factor? Also stems r weak

I agree with all the other answers below, It is Phenotype/expression and lack of light, I can't add much onto the facts they have provided but have grown weed in the low LED wattage environment before with great yields. A link to my diary of that is listed below, I did run into WPM as the air flow was not the best so please keep that in mind if its an issue. growdiaries.com/diaries/49742-dinafem-og-kush-autoflowering-grow-journal-by-m0use Good Luck & Happy Growing! ***disclaimer, multiple people are answering all questions as there is a contest called GOTM, when a user is selected as the answer they get a point. light is a major factor to yield, but so is genetics. not everything grows donky dick colas, no matter how sophisticated you are at gowing it. more is fine until it is too much... a plant has a maximum number of photons it can handle per day relative to atmospheric CO2 and temps etc.. (best measured as DLI - daily light integral) so, depends on how bright that sun is... how efficient your LEDs are... you are probably fine. the attenuation from window and fewer hours is unlikely to be "too much" in any normal context. if plant ever looks super tired last 2-3 hours (extended period at end of day) or if it stunts, then you know it's probably too much.. resulting internode length can be a guide too

It is likely a pheno type, but could be other factors as well. Soil ph might not be as favorable for one as other, or it might be handling the limited light they are getting differently. You will need stronger light for decent flowering if you want them to produce. Your current set up likely won't produce much bud. You still have some time. Good luck 👍

High DojaMon, When you grow plants from seeds they always have 1 father plant and 1 mother plant. It depends on howmuch genetics did the seed take from the father plant and howmuch genetics did the seed take from the mother plant. It is not different with children... Brothers will not grow exactly the same height just because they are brothers. If you want genetics to be identically you need clones from a mother plant. Happy Growing! 😋

Ya it’s phenotype expression/ variation But that is likely not enough sunlight/ supplemental light to get you thru flower adequately

@DojaMon its simply phenotype variation ie some plants will exhibit growth patterns similar to the mother and others might throw back to the other genetics added thru pollination thats why good breeders will cull out any weak plants in a line before releasing it to paying customers
