Sorry for all the questions, new to this. The pics are showing some yellow fan leaves near the bottom, Ph and soil test shows everything is okay, but I'm concerned I may need to up the nitrogen some more. Any input would be appreciated, should I prune them?

Yep, just give her some food. I recommend BuildASoil's BuildABloom. Good luck!

Yes, your plant is hungry for nitrogen, give a couple of feeds with half strength grow nutrients to top up the available nitrogen, then go back to your bloom nutrients and this should stop the problem from worsening. The affected leaves will not recover, but it will slow the yellowing in general. No need to cut the leaves off, this will just starve your plant further, - cut them off only once they are completely yellow. At the moment your plant is taking from those leaves to feed the flower growth, so removing them would harm flower development. Which is why defoliation is never a good idea unless there are major problems. Just remember......... Less leaves = less energy being made = less growth. Hope this helps, Organoman.

I would flush them with recharge in the water or a seaweed/kelp extract. When flushing you are also losing microbiology and that needs to be restored to get the plant back on track. The Rhizome bacteria help the roots feed. A different quick fix is to add 3 TBSP of a 3-5-6 in 2 gallons of water overnight. It would reduce ph imbalances ( plus rebalance the media) and more than likely has the bacteria needed to get his ladies fed better. 3-5-6 Tomato and Vegetable Fertilizer, .00. Run that for next 3 weeks and then begin to reduce at week 6 ( decreasing amount of fertilizer that sits in water overnight by 1 TBSP). Ya, sounds crazy, but look up what healthy soil does for plants and I may not sound so crazy. You can add all the nutrients you want, but if the biological components of the soil are crap…so will be the yield. Nutrients don’t make bomb bud….bacteria and fungus do.

High Sfcbcraig, Thats is okay we are here to help!!! This is a Nitrogen dificiency. But not because you did not give enough. But because you give too much!!! We call that a nutrient lockout. I can see that from the new leaves beeing too dark green and the older leaves turn yellow and bright green. You need to flush the soil and after flushing give less Nitrogen nutrients. You should only give bloom nutrients from now on!!! She needs P and K and just a little N. You can do this flushing by slowly pour water pH 6.2 onto the top of the soil, allowing it to drain freely from the bottom of the pot. Pour slowly, so the water doesn't overflow from the top of the pot. Use approximately four times the pot's volume in water to flush the soil. For example, use 1 gallon of water for a 1 quart pot. After the flushing you need to let the soil (almost) dry out completely. Because I can see your soil is too wet so after flushing you need to give less water. You can water only 50% from your pot and the next time you water the other 50%. This way the roots always have enough water with nutrients and oxygen available. I always give 10% from pot volume till the top layer of the soil is completely dry and then I give again. But when you are not sure when and how to water then just watering half of the pot is a easy trick to make sure that you do not overwater again! And from here you continue your grow as you did before but now with less Nitrogen nutrients!!! Happy Growing! 😋

So you've changed your nutes from Canna ph-Bloom to CannaPerk Big Bud and I'm not understanding that at all... The nutes you've gone to say they are for use in the seedling stage. Perhaps you've made a mistake? Why did you feel the need to change nutrients? And why do you think you should prune a plant that looks pretty bare? Settle on a nute line and stick to it... the changes are probably stressing your plant.
