When I’m trimming I know I cut the leaves out of the buds and do I cut all the hairs off to? When I buy at the despinceries I see the shape of the bud and never any hairs can anybody explain?

Actually, there are no trichomes/THC produced by or on the pistils, the pistils only function is to catch pollen, nothing more, nothing less.

Believe it or not, pistils are one of the two highest concentrated areas of THC, along with calyxes. So, try not to trim your pistils off. Just big fan leaves go when I trim before hanging. The sugar leaves help shape the bud and are a part of helping make dense nugs while they hang to dry before curing. Dispensary nugs are tossed in auto trimmers, hence the difference in looks.

Just cut the biggest leaves and not the pistils/hairs. A lot of commercially prepared "product"/buds are trimmed in mechanical devices known as "spinners" which knocks a lot of pistils (and trichomes!) off of the buds, which also end up much more ball shaped too, rather than the natural bud shape.

Yeah... the dispensaries are selling crap.... you want to leave the pistils or as many of them as you can - not only do they hold trichomes, they enhance the look of the dried buds... Good luck!
