Has anyone tried growing photoperiodic plants during the autum/winter season for the purpose of getting seeds? Does it work?

Yes, I have grown many photoperiod plants, outdoors, mid winter for the purposes of seed making and/or pollen collection. The plants stay small, grow slowly, but produce viable pollen and/or seeds. Just keep them out of frosts and heavy rain, especially when flowering. Go for it with complete confidence!

Light does not influence pollination, you need male and female and then you need light duration for them both to start flowering. You can play with female and colloidal silver application. Google
