No, intense cold will not do anything beneficial. Trichome quality and quantity are controlled by genetics. Dry, low humidity air and warm temps for the last few weeks of flowering will improve trichome production though. Nothing you do right before harvest will do anything magical to the flower quality, it is all a myth.

This is most likely a myth. that before cutting you need to hold the plant in the cold. it will do nothing except perhaps paint the leaves in beautiful colors. red purple yellow. and the quality of the buds themselves and their effect will not be positively affected.

Intense cold is never good... If you've already dried your buds, the quality and quantity of resin is set... The time to improve those qualities is during the grow - not afterwards... If your drying conditions were 60F and 60% humidity, then they were perfect (but no one ever really gets those perfect conditions unless they've got a lot of money!).... so just enjoy what you have harvested!

I would only drop the temperature after you chop it and hang it. Or on the day of chopping it. 60F and 60RH for 14 days is the optimal dry.
