Increased stretch mid flower

MuzzFuzz
MuzzFuzzstarted grow question 2 years ago
What would be causing increased stretching during mid flower? It’s only happening to 2 of my plants. All the flowers all spindly with small leaves and a lot of space between internodes Currently using co2 supplementation 1500 ppms during lights on

I think it's most likely down to genetics for these ladies since you haven't done anything "wrong" and certainly their growth pattern is not normal here... And don't beat yourself up thinking you could have done something differently with them... there's nothing you could have done. If you're thinking they only have another 3 weeks, I wouldn't expect much out of them - I don't really think they're going to fatten up like the other 3. Plants are individuals and do things slightly differently from their sisters even if they're the same strain from the same breeder - human twins are not exactly identical either. I would just take whatever they have to offer and be glad of it. It is entirely possible, though, they might want more time to "finish" than their sisters so think about that when it comes time for you to harvest... Maybe giving them extra time will be best? You can always try that and see how they do - especially if you see their buds starting to fatten up - I'd give that a shot myself! Good luck!

I’m referring mainly to pics 4 and 5 here as far as “normal stretch” is concerned

That is NOT ”completely normal” flowering stretch. Genetic issues (possible grinspoon/greenspoon mutation) or somehow these are revegging and others are not. It looks a lot like reveg at the moment - but it will be more obvious as flowering continues

Some of the leaves look like single fingers. My guess is it is like the dr.greenspoon plant that is long and spindly with odd growth. aka bad genetics. Can't find out where your seeds came from, germination week did not say anything, maybe this is the source of all your problems some bag seed? Or It has reveged and the lighting schedule is off. Double check your timer and confirm its not on 12/12. Best Of Luck!

High bro, this “flowering stretch” is completely normal as they try and outgrow surrounding vegetation in order to get the most sun possible to ensure higher chances of reproduction plus, a longer internodal distance means more space for flower clusters, and better light penetration. The reason for those 2 plants to strech while the other stopped streching for a while. Is because the other 3 matured faster then those 2 girls. You can see that the 3 other plants are really focussing on growing buds while the 2 girls that are a bit behind still try to outgrow the other plants before putting her energy in making those buds bigger, fatter and juicy. All 5 plants look great! Enjoy the rest of your grow!
