Hydro. If the plant is overfed, can the ec possibly go down when they are given new nutes ?

Usually they eat 0.1 ec when I add nute or with a new tank and ph goes up. Then it stabilizes and ph starts to go down till I refeed since I have a small tank. Right now there maybe a nute block but EC still goes down like they are hungry... Hydro with a small tank is confusing..

Your question is valid. Yes EC can go down when the plants are given right nutes, and the concentration of ions in the solution is almost exactly what the plant need or less. Another case: EC can go down when wrong nutes are mixed together or right nutes mixed wrong way. In such case there’s salt build up. The first case is yours I hope. Plants are clearly having Magnesium and what’s unlikely for hydroponics, Potassium deficiency. When you have K deficiency in hydro that’s the clear sign of too low EC given to plant (of course if NPK ratio is adequate). Because in general Potassium deficiency never occurs in hydro (if growing technology is followed correctly). You need to raise up EC accordingly to the size of the plant and it’s growing stage. Currently they are in flowering which takes the most of energy to produce buds. 350 ppm (0.7 EC) is too low for early flowering. It’s even too low for early veg, imho. You’re giving them incredible mix of nutes from different brands which also may lead into some nute lockout. It’s always better to stick to one brand (grow, bloom, CalMag, ph up/down). They will not grow better when you add so many enhancers and stimulators. In fact to achieve good results, the list of nutrients can be very short: Grow, Bloom, CalMag, pH up/dn, Fulvic acid, and sugars during flowering.

Hello, an EC of 0.7 for your growth phase is too low, increase it immediately, to understand if the EC is adequate, look at its fluctuations over time, if the tendency is to rise, it is too high (Plants drink more than they eat) if it goes down it is too low (Plants eat more than they drink). However usually the most important thing in hydroponics is the pH keep it nice stable at 5.7-5.9. I see that you use a lot of nutrients, I advise you to simplify and simplify when you have mastered with little try to add much more, I assure you that very little is needed to obtain breathtaking yields. Good luck friend!

Hi, I would maybe also look into my ec meter and maybe ph pen. Looking at the amounts of fertilizer that you use, the ppm seems very low. I grow on RO water with similar or less fertilizer (all CANNA) and am somewhere in the 900 ppm. Maybe check if your equipment is properly calibrated?

I flushed for 24h then made a soup with 0.6 nutes and less osmosis water, they are eating
