Certainly looks like it, sorry. Heavy defoliation can cause metabolic shock which can then possibly induce hermaphroditism.

ARE THESE THRIPS AND/OR SPIDER MITE BITES? Maybe it's a notes issue? Looks like an insect invasion thoughThere is some bite marks on the leaves.
