RH for flowering

TonkaSunstarted grow question a year ago
What level of humidity should be maintained during flower. On previous grows, I kept it to 50 rh. But after seeing some growers use as high as 70rh, I upped this grow to 60rh. Thoughts?

Veg is 60 but for flower you want it lower to avoid bud rot and wpm. Lookup "vpd chart" to get optimal grow conditions.

depends on temperatures, but 70% is probably too high and you want to get that down lower. A resulting vpd somewhere between 1.2-1.5 is usually suggested for mature flower -- depends on the source of information as i've seen this range in different VPD tables. There is more than one way to result in the same VPD. VPD directly impacts transpiration which directly impacts rate of water uptake in roots. (primary factor assuming healthy rootzone and garden in general) if you can't control tightly, i'd still drop it even if not targeting a specific VPD.. >65% is an elevated risk for pathogens (infectious things)

Typically those numbers cost a lot of money, well for my grow tents.. It's near impossible with the amount of evaop going on. So with good ventilation I get away easily with 55. This crap about having to have it down to that. Most countries that grow pot like cali have 60+% RH right thru their grow and they some of the best weed coming from their atm. Same thing can be done in an controlled environment. I went mad using my Dehumidifier like crazy. And keeping it at around 40. Tbh, I seen no difference.. just my plants drinking a lot more. Therefore making more RH.. Worry about ventilation my friend. I've brought my Tropicana cookies through 60RH and it was lovely. Not the best of Phenos, but that's autos. Just good ventilation If you can get a fan going underneath and above your canopy with a good negative seal set up. Have your lights on during the night or whenever your RH is highest. Good Growing.

Typically you want to start at your clones at 70%Rh and bring them down to about 65% rh in early veg a 60% for let veg as you get closer to flower you want to decrease humidity about 2% a week until 5 week if flower and then I like to keep them at 45%Rh after week 5 to finish off to eliminate the possibility of mold and other pathogens..Now saying that you have to adjust your temperature all the while as well to keep those girls in the ideal VPD so that they keep drinking and perspiring to uptake food and water...I have a chart I follow and right now I'm running 45rh and 21C is about the lowest I want to be and they're thriving...water uptake is consistent and they're healthy....VPD is something you want to get into to take your grow to the next level, PPFD and DLI is also important as well a good balance in those areas and a consistent PH and you're rocking hard

The more dense buds become the probability of mold and other pathogens increases dramatically. RH during flowering mostly depends on genetics and your grow environment. If you live if a dry mold free environment you can a bit higher. If you live in a humid mold prone area I would keep the RH lower to be safe. Decrease RH as buds get fatty. Maintain proper airflow and ventilation.

Like Roberts said 40% is where you want to be. If you have good circulation 50% is fine and you won't have any issues. 60-70% you could be asking for troubles.

40 percent is ideal. To keep mildew, rot, mold all away.

Most people shoot for 40%-50%. I had the humidity of an outdoor grow at 80% + for over 2 weeks, which I couldn't control. I got a few leaves that had powdery mildew on the last couple days of that stretch, so I had to fight that for a couple weeks after. Anyway. I don't recommend getting over 60% humidity. It could bring on various problems like PM. Find a good VPD chart and base your humidity off of the natural temperature of your room/tent.
