Protaphorura armata is the technical name. They are springtails that normally feed on decomposing organic material and various types of fungi. Some springtails can be harmful, but these are not. I've done several grows with these little guests, and the plants were doing great. Just imagine that when I watered, I would take away hundreds of them. In the end, I didn't do anything serious to get rid of them, but a good wet-dry cycle keeps them under control (they like humidity and water). To be 100% sure, you need to see if they jump; just bring something close to them or wet them, and they'll make a leap... if they do, you can be sure they are these. If you type the name on the web, you'll get a lot of answers, and many will say they are harmful... but there are over 4500 species of springtails.
