Good rule of thumb for transplanting if you can see the roots coming out the bottom of the pot it needs transplanting but yeah like roberts says you should never transplant autos due to them having a predetermined life span and if you stress them when young it can cause irreversible mutations to the plant along with taking an extra few weeks which defats the point of an auto lol

You should always start autos in final spot. They cam lose lots of time if stress from transplant is bad. When you do try not to disturb roots. I would transplant in about 2 weeks if that to new spot.

It’s hard to tell what size container it’s in now. I start mine off in solo cups, I wait til they have about 3 nodes. If the soil starts drying out faster between watering that’s a good sign they are thirsty and ready for a bigger container

Hmmm. If transplanting an auto. It should be seamless. Just make a hole and try not to disturb the roots as much as possible. And transplant/uppoting can work well with autos. Just don't leave it more than a few weeks. Dep on your size of pot, defines the size of your auto a lot of the time. Some autos can flip early regardless of pot size. But, mostly a big pot gives a bigger auto. And no stress.
