Is it normal to have some white residue on your leaves after applying a milk and water foliage spray? I know it might sound like a stupid question but I just want to make sure

Yes the milk will leave a film, along with any other elements in spray. If you are having a powdery mildew issue I would also work on lowering your humidity levels.

yes, it'll leave slime and organic material behind that can rot.. don't foliar spray with milk. it doesn't do anything useful. i made that mistake once - never again. it's an old wive's take that it helps in any way to prevent WPM. It does not. I was desparate. Don't be desparate. See that it's a silly anecdote with no evidence to back it up.

Well yes. Milk will not evaporate cleanly. It will leave residue
