I had purchase some flower from my local dispensary. I picked some stuff up called grogu aka baby Yoda. I was fortunate enough to find what looks likes to be valuable seeds but not sure if they are auto or pheno. Do I just plant and watch it to see or can I find out any other way

I had a buddy grow out 12 seeds from "bag seed" he collected over a few months. 7 were full blown hermi, 4 males and 1 female. The female plant made nanners end of its life "normal under lots of stress" and was cross pollinated by the other plants so its yield was garbage. That same friend also smoked some of the hermi plants, no harm just not great bud. They did not cure anything and it was harsh as shit. They then said growing is to hard because they started with shit and ended up with more shit vs starting and researching for success from the get go. Save the seed, grow it outdoors one year away from other plants if you really want to pop it. Don't put to much effort into it as if and when you have to kill it will make it much easier. I would be truly disappointed if I vegd out a plant and gave it so much time and effort for it to turn male or full blown hermi all because I wanted to grow out a mystery seed. HOWEVER some of the best weed strains have origins in bag seeds. aka OG Kush/Chemdog so do what you will, just be prepared to do what needs to be done and realize your situation is not in your favour. Good Luck!

I have grown the bag seeds before and not had issues. The seed was likeky from a hermi. It would have a high chance of going hermi again. I would grow it in a controlled environment away from other plants in case it does if you decide to give it a go.

finding a seed in a bag isn't a good thing, typically. Unless you know how it was contaminated and certain it was not a plant that hermied on its own. for example, if you know it was from another male close by that wasn't contained well or a plant you applied STS or CS to force it to hermie.. these seeds could be worth growing. These are less likely contexts than all other possibilities, so it's usnlikely this is true unless it came from your garden and you know it to be true. i had a male plant give me 20ish seeds on several plants i was fondling... i broke protocol a couple times and went from breeding area to crap area and i got a handful of seeds where i frequently traversed. no nanners or pollen sacs, otheriwse, in garden. anything else is trash. if it hermied on its own, it's going to pass that trait down to at least some of its offspring. inbreeding is another concern. if they were growing clones and they self propogated, then it's going to be some low-yielding, high-risk for genetic defect plants. self plants suck a big fat dick in my experience.

No way to tell until you grow them, but they are likely to be hermaphrodite and certainly will not be "feminized". Far better to grow seeds of known parentage and guaranteed genetic quality.

They are almost certainly photoperiod. You can plant them, but be weary of the fact they may have intersex issues - as you don’t know the pollen donor, and in this case it’s likely it was self pollinated.
