2 of my 4 plants cave stayed short and VERY bush. The other 2 are stretching quite a bit. Had to stand the short plants on plastic baskets but I’m having to start tying down the other two. Anyone know why? Is it just genetics or could there be some other reason?

If they're all in the same size pot and growing under the same light then it's probably just down to genetics, that is the problem with hybrids especially from a new strain that hasn't been properly stabilised. Or it could be two of the plants are not receiving as much light or they have had some kind of stress (light, heat, wind, bending, snapping etc.)also try taking some photos with the grow lights off using flash so we can see them in their true beauty! 🌱😁

Hi! The answer is one is sativa dominate the other indica,. I've grown both in the same room without adjusting the height, it's about the height of the plant you want at finish divided by the stretch of the strain in flower... I grew out two phenos of Barney's vanilla kush and I put the indica in at 12 inches and the sativa in at 4-5 inches.. they finished at the same height.. it takes a bit of foresight but it works well... If they're from seed, sometimes I clone the sativa to set it back a bit and give the indica time to stretch in veg. By the time it's ready to flower, they're at the right heights.. cheers! Keep it green! DWCHC👈👍

It could just be genetics. I have had a few of the same strain that grow totally different than the others. It could also be a light issue. If you don't have enough light coverage then the plants furthest from the lights will stretch more looking for light.

It's just the genetics bud. Every cross has different phenotypes cuz of the different mix of the parent strains. Think about it this way... 2 people have 3 kids will all 3 be exactly the same. It's just a slightly different mix of the parent varieties. If ur shooting for a more even canopy make sure to tie down the larger ones really well, and leave the smaller ones loose. That will inhibit the larger from stretching well the other 2 take off from the transition into flower. To greatly reduce the flower stretch even more on the larger 2. U also have the option of topping the main or mains just before u make the flip. That will force the plants to heal itself and transition into flower. Greatly lowering her energy to stretch. Just an idea! Happy growing and stay lit fam.
