All the same tech, metal cutting blades, but different uses.
I use pruners or a mini saw to harvest the plant. the thick wooden trunk needs more then just scissors.
I use the same pruners again to chop up the plant as well from main branch separation. on anything that's aorund the thickness of a pencil.
I rarely use scissors at all, not unless the twigs attaching the buds to the stick are thick and I won't want to warp my snips by over exerting their capabilities. They warp and bend/twist when the object is to thick to cut making them bad for snipping later and trimming buds this stresses the frame and makes em useless.
I use a snips/silicone brush for bud trimming and making it look pretty, I have a cheep pare of snips that work ok. last about 2 years before they break. I want to invest into some that are nonstick and curved, come to a finer point for getting some of them hard to hit places in bud trimming. The silicone brush is one from a kitchen store with its bristles trimmed shorter. it works great and its super fast. much like a machine buds need to have a good density to work and can only be using on dry trimming not wet.
I would only had trim a few plants. If I had a room to do I would invest into a bud trimming machine, but they only work well if the bud is dense. if your buds are airy then its gonna be a real mess in one of them machines. I prefer dry trimming with a silicone brush but wet trimming can make buds look really nice as well just more time/effort.
Good Luck!
