Less Leaf Blades

Hydronaut
Hydronautstarted grow question 9 months ago
I have some 3 blades at the top part of the canopy. Variables nearly always in check, so no stressors there. But, any thoughts to “normal” weird shit for autoflowers or is a DLI of 45 possible too much for the top of canopy causing stress and less blades? Plant seemingly healthy.

first time growing this strain?? If it's the same environmentals you've used in the past with other stains and had good results I would just go with the flow. But it it gets worse lowering the DLI would be a good start. One site I just google said its a stress response but only if its not genetic lol. It looks like some the leaves are curling up at the tips or tacoing on the sides in top canopy. If ambient air temps are ok are leaf temps elevated or with normal range? Only way I know to check this is with a IR thermometer. I have yet to grow anything with a DLI of 45 on a 20/4 photoperoid. Could always try to give it a bit more downtime and slightly lower DLI. or just increase light intensity to still hit your 45 DLI target but more dark time for them. I tend not to go over 18/6 Just a guess not a real solution, Good Luck!

Absolutely normal during flowering, you will eventually end up with single (one) bladed leaves. Nothing abnormal and nothing to worry about.

I've had that before and it was genetics. High light can be a cause but if all look ok don't stress or you will kick out some three fingered hands lol. Light intensity can be a little too much or a lot too much. I've found tho that the first things to go with just a little too much is the taste and smell. The terps seem to get hit first so just for that reason best go with the slightly lower dli. You obviously have a meter of some sort to measure your dli. I'd go for a ppfd measure of 900 if you don't know your leaf surface temperature and have a look at the leaves throughout the day. Making sure the pray. If an hour before lights off they either are still praying or now not will let you know if she needs more or less light. Good luck I think you'll be fine and she will look fantastic

3 blades leaves are for the stress of the plant can be from any kind of stress .. i can see very little light stress but if the top leaves start closing up more u can lower it to 43-44 and so on 😬

I wouldn't worry at all, your plant looks healthy and that's all that matters. Some type of weird shit is kind of normal because every strain is different and every grow is different. With regards to the DLI, I think it's a little bit excessive unless you're adding CO2 (which I don't believe you are). Try lowering it a bit to a maximum of 40 and see if there are any imporovements. Good Luck with the rest of your grow and enjoy the yield
