Burnt and purple fan leaves

longearringboy420
longearringboy420started grow question 8 months ago
The thing I did differently last week was to flush instead of giving the usual dose of nutrients due to the fact that I had a feeling the nutrients were burning the leaves. However, it seems to have gotten worse. Currently late in flowering. Should I add nutrients back? (coco)

coco has no nutes, so you must fertilize every time... with 10% runoff to avoid buildup due to choice of concentration. that doesn't mean concentration isn't too high and will build up in plant. this is where observing and adjusting formulat comes into the equation. it's somethign you learn over time. so, correct the formula imbalance using a leaf symptom chart.. take notes. stage in life cycle is important to consider as well as season -- someplaces have drastically different VPD depending on time of year you are growing and that impacts how fast the plant drinks. the purple/red is either genetics or colder temps at night below 68F or so. it doesn't take much. they are "Fall" colors for the same reason leaves change colors outside on trees and such. you'll be fine, but cutting of all fertilization was the wrong choice. you may have need to adjust something, but ceasing providing building blocks to a plant will only hinder growth. conservation of mass applies.. it cannot manifest NPK/CaMgS elements from nothing.

At this stage of the growth, adding PK will delay the harvest window for 3 weeks. You can give it some Mag Sulfur it will be used up faster than PK. The buds won’t get as fat like if it was PK but the ripening will be perfect.

Your plant started fading due to no nutrition. Coco always needs nutrition till a fade period prior to harvest. It almost looks like it is fox tailing. Was it too close to the light, and the heat caused issues? Coco is nothing like soil and is to be treated very differently then wet, and dry cycles of soil. I would just wait fir ripeness and harvest at this point. I would not reintroduce nutrition.
