Definitely NOT a cannabis seedling, just a random weed. There is no need to soak seeds in water first, do not disturb the planted seed, let nature take its course! Also, next time, fill your pots right up and give your seedlings' roots the best chance of getting established.

I think it is a cannabis plant with deformities. Put it to the side, and give it more time. I would out of curiosity at the least.

I don’t think that’s a canna seedling. As AsNoriu said, the cotyledons do not have stems like this on a canna seedlings. I’d wager this is not cannabis.

Definitely cannabis. Leave alone. Try not to get paracannoia. (Real medical term)

I'd definitely give that a little time. I had an auto sprout with what appeared to be sparkly... on its first leaves...was incredibly weird. It powered through and is going steady and healthy now.

It looks promising! The middle part definitely resembles cannabis to me. With a bit more growth, we'll be even more certain. Let's stay positive and keep an eye on its progress, disregarding the two mutant leaves 🍻

there are other plants that look similar to marijuana seedlings. do not fiddle with the seed. Disturbing them once you start the process isn't the best option. Better to just stay the course. As long as that top 1/2" doesn't dry out, it'll germinate with just as high of a success rate, no worries. Peat can be acidic, so as long as not in some crazy range, should be fine. whatever method you settle on, just do it and walk away... can check on it 1/day but don't dwell on it... it leads to ideas like.. "maybe, i'll just dig around with a toothpick.." and while that may help your nerves, it's going to kill plants, lol. After you do it a few times you'll treat it more like a 2nd child :P use more perlite in future pots. 50/50 with soil or sphagnum peat moss will make overwatering virtually impossible. Also, plenty of o2 for the roots at this ratio. doesn't have to be perlite.. any drainage amendment as long as not too chunky. This will increase how often you have to irrigate, but it is worth it.
