What would cause more than half of my plants to start throwing pollen sacs?

more than half my plants have thrown pollen sacs at the internode, and I’m 110% sure I have no light leaks, everything’s been perfect including light schedule/intensity, nutrients, watering and environment. They even seemed super happy and healthy. Was it the defoliation or what?

Genetics. If everything above is accurate then it's genetics. If the genetics are half stable then ANY stress could send them over the edge and boom herm. So if they was so/so genetics and you did defoliation that could of caused it. Although you think you didn't have light leaks maybe you do. Go inside the tent wait 2 minutes for eyes to adjust and have spouse or friend to walk around the outside shinning a bright light. This will let you know for sure. But if not then it's genetics. Some do it even with perfect conditions and little to no stress, their just shitty genetics. It unfortunately sounds like this is your problem. Goodluck hope this helps.

@Roberts yeah bro for sure pollen sacs. Just a few of them and some of them had pistils with anthers inside what looked to be a male stick and ball? I’ve already tossed out all of those plants. The other 5 plants I’ve checked up and down and I’ve yet to find anything on them. So I’m honestly confused

"reputable breeders" - Sadly once profit is the primary motivating factor, this often goes out the window. Better to ask for forgiveness than permission.. says the sociopathic (small) business owner. so, genetics is not out the question even if you paid top-dollar.. in fact it may even be mildly correlated, i wouldn't assume either way. the fact that it happened to several strains? from several breeders? definitely points more toward environment. or, was it just one or two strains of the bunch? (rhetorical) The more strains involved the more it points to environment. and if all the hermie plants were bunched together in one general area, that also points to environment. light leaks can be tough to see... you may only be able to notice or see it if standing in the exact right spot. some beam of light directed at the right spot in plant. from ducting is a common one to miss. and sort of light labyrinth employed? any weird magical foliar sprays promisng the world? alas, all you can do is guess.. if it happens again, might need to revise the 110% confidence it isn't something in environment, 99/100 times it is light pollution, i bet. most of those breeders have had duds before. shit happens. color of space by inhouse? something liek that, it was a flip of the coin if you got a shit ass batch of seed, lol... ppl paid through the nose for that one. beware of collaborations, lol.. those seem to be the most likely to fail of the overprice connoisseur stuff. Just a lot of genetically depressed plants, imo. also, easier if you put useful pics here as a courtesy to those trying to help you. no reason to have to load 3 pages on a half-assed website that barely functions, then seaerch through weeks of diary for relevant information. i didn't bother, because you didn't bother, lol.

Would help to see it. Are you sure they are pollen sacs. If there is a pistil coming out of them they're not pollen sacs. If not the case then genetics or over stressed will cause a hermi.

@GMSgrows nope those are my outdoor you are referring to. They were from self pollinated plants, been thru hell and back but they didn’t hermie 🤷‍♂️🏽 but I figured they would’ve too. My indoor are all from reputable breeders. Everything has been dialed in and going smoothly. There has been absolutely no light leaks and their photoperiod has been at 12/12 with no hiccups. I defoliated at the end of week two really just to clean up the bottom and middle canopy. I don’t feel I went too hard on them. In fact, I barely took anything from the caramel cream and she still threw out pollen sacks too. They all seemed happy and healthy but nonetheless pollen sacks at the bottom of the plants

If the diary you mention is random bag seeds., then there's your problem. Likely the plant created her own seeds. Hermes make hermies. Kannabia is a great place to get good genetics.

@doughhead I promise I have no light leaks. They are in a shed inside a garage and I always keep the tents closed. Plus my lights go off at 7pm-7am so it’s dark anyway. There are no lights inside the tents, I’ve had to cover a few power strips and grow room controller outside the tents but nonetheless when I stand inside the shed for 15 minutes I see nothing inside the tent. It would be hard to believe it’s the genetics because they’re all different strains from different reputable breeders. So idk I’m mindblown

Hermaphrodite plants are usually a result of poor breeding, intense stress, genetic drift. With the very little to no information on your situation, it's impossible to get any sense of whats going on.
