I would appreciate feedback on the defoliation exercise I carried out this week (see videos and pics - before/after defoliation), specifically - should I have defoliated a lot more and if so, should I consider doing that now.. wk 3 of flower?

Hi HazeyBobby Would love to have a friend with a growth like this. Amazing job mate. I think you looking really good man towards a massive harvest. I made a research for you. Defoliation at this stage. Week-3 flower. And it looks you are fine with defoliating more if you want and need to. Defoliate the plant right before switching to the flowering stage, then defoliate once again at week 3 of the flowering stage. This is what I do with photoperiod plants and I’ve gotten good results with it. I suggest you start with this if you’re not sure what to do. Week 3 & 6 defoliation – I’ve heard some grower like to move everything down 3 weeks, and avoid defoliation right at the beginning of the flowering stage. In this case the first defoliation would happen at the end of week 3 of the flowering stage, then a second defoliation end of week 6. I’ve never tried this method And Your main goal with defoliation in the flowering stage is to expose all your main buds to light and air. Exposed buds simply grow faster and fatten up faster than buds that have been hidden by leaves. Try to focus on removing the bigger fan leaves you done this already. As in veg, you should still be removing any leaves that are laying on top of each other, and focus on removing those lower leaves (only bigger fan leaves) on the plant if possible. This defoliation will decrease the chances of mold and help release energy to be put into the colas. Hope this helps and good luck.

You did a wonderful with the defoliation removing everything in the shadows looks like. You even did a great job underneath the canopy giving it better airflow. I would just let her recover and see if she needs another defoliation.

This is correct mate, well done! Just make sure you only leave 3/4 nodes on each branch to get the sexiest top buds! Filling out your space perfectly though! 🌱😁👍

IMO, you did a very good, clean job on your defo. You didn't take too much which is what really counts. There could be a tad more just above/below scrog line but this is more then fine. In flower many people will say don't prune or defo during flower to avoid stress. But..nah. If you were using mystery bag seed and the genetics were weak I would advise against anything, but Barneys genetics are versatile and your girls should not be harmed at all if you do more light defo in flower. If you do, try and do it during feedings so she can recover quickly and youre good to go Cheers man and good luck. They do look stellar and you've done a hell of a job. Keep er up👍☺️
