Now that its coming out that flushing is unnecessary towards the end of harvest , does allowing the plants natural process of senescence hurt final yield or does it lead to better quality flowers?

Final flushing with only water is bad practice because it deprives the plant of food while it has to expend a lot of energy producing cannabinoids and terpenes. The longer it takes, the more it affects the quality of the flowers. Using a finishing product, such as Power Clean from Bio Tech or Flawless Finish from ADN, will help the plant to assimilate the remaining fertiliser in the soil and clean the substrate for subsequent crops. But a whole week is too long, and I generally cut back after 3 or 4 days. However, a more effective technique for improving the taste is to cut your plants in the dark, just before sunrise, and wait half an hour before showing your cut flowers the light. The plants will then have less sap in their system and therefore less fertiliser and less chlorophyll. > Ppl who say don't flush. Usually are not smoking it. Smoking ruins the taste anyway, try dry herb vaporizer. 😍

No need to drown your plants with gallons of water before harvest, just stop all nutrients/fertilizers about 2 weeks before your expected harvest date. Senescence does not hurt yields, it is a natural process and has litttle effect on potency, either good or bad. Either way, "flushing" has no bearing on chlorophyll, chlorophyll is broken down during the "curing" process, it is not water soluble.

Sometimes you have to do this thing called personal experience. It matters. Ppl who say don't flush. Usually are not smoking it. $$. Time is $. Always Flush.if your a connoisseur, or growing for personal experience and headie quality. Who wants a disgusting black ashed bowl? Not me clean white ash . As far as I'm concerned people might as well not even grow weed if they're going to cut Conners like this it's disgusting just like the industry itself adding terpenes to flour now people want to cut steps might as well hang it up but someone else do it if you don't want to do it yourself the right way

If your using synthetic fertilizer you want to flush otherwise you're going to have some harsh smoke when it's all said and done and senescence is not going to effect your yield and if anything it a make the quality of flowers better I would think.

@AutoflowersSuck No offense but flushing doesn't get the chlyrophyll out of the plant only curing does wich you do AFTER they are cut or am i missing something... i mean you get the haysmell if you cure them. Never had that after a flush... Flushing is about getting rid of excess nutes mostly found in mineral fertilizers that somehow ,,harshen,, the taste if kept in the soil while the plant finishes. Since that is debunked, well do it if you want or believe in it i guess i never do and still get tasty smokes if i cure them right. Your terps wont get ruined if you do and wont if you dont so yeah... just cure them right.

Flushing is important. You wanna get as much nitrogen out of your plant as possible, and chlorophyll out of your plant tissue as possible. Excess nitrogen creates harsh smoke with black ash that won't stay lit. It makes the weed taste like chemicals. Chlorophyll will make your weed smell like hay. So forget where ever you heard that flushing doesn't matter, it does. I have 30 years of customer experiences to draw from on it. Organic grown weed seems to be more forgiving. That's a question i have long asked, and never really gotten a reason why. But in hydroponic, you better flush if you plan on smoking it.
