yes I could have left it but it looked very weakened, and as it is an auto variety I preferred to put tape on it regarding the LST, I prefer the scrog technique with a net, my next plant will benefit from it Unfortunately this one grew much too quickly for me to install the net in time

I'd have left that big one fallen over(supercropped) so it's the same height as the rest of your canopy. Your light will work more efficiently that way. It will heal up fine regardless if it's still attached. You don't have to support the break with your duct tape, just cover it long enough for a knuckle to develop. Make sure the tape isn't too tight or it will do more harm than good.
