Hello my friend
It's a start of cal mag deficiency
Magnesium helps in the development of healthy ribs in plants, the production of chlorophyll and the decomposition of enzymes.
Magnesium deficiency is a very common nutrient deficiency in the cannabis plant. It is quite similar to iron or calcium deficiency. Signs can be seen visually on the plant and treated easily if you spot the problem early. Deficiencies usually occur when the plant is one month old. It is about 30 cm high and the deficiency is first displayed on the lower leaves.
HOW TO RECOGNIZE IT
If you pay close attention on a daily basis, you may start to see that the growth of the plant is stagnating. It could take you several weeks to recognize it.
The most common visual symptoms of this deficiency are definitely the change of color in the leaves. A yellow or pale green coloration will begin to appear on the ribs and edges of the lower leaves. This deficiency will continue to spread upwards, until the whole plant eventually becomes infected and dies. At first, brown, rust-coloured spots will begin to appear among the yellow leaves. If nothing is done, the leaves end up curling up on the edge as a sign of death. They will also have a very rough and unhealthy touch.
Lack of magnesium occurs most commonly in indoor cultivation. So, if you start seeing yellow leaves on the plants in your closet, here's what you need to do.
SOLVING THE DEFICIENCY
First, be sure to measure pH in the root area. Although these deficiencies are most common with hydroponics methods, your land may also suffer. An acidic pH blocks essential nutrients such as iron and magnesium. If the pH is low enough, the problem may not be a lack of nutrients, but rather the inability of the roots to absorb them. The best way to treat this problem is to rinse your cannabis plant with pH-clean water. Make sure the water contains a normal dose of nutrients suitable for cannabis.
Magnesium is best absorbed by the roots when the soil has a pH between 6.0 and 7.0. If your planting is hydroponic, the recommended pH is slightly more acidic, between 6.0 and 6.5.
The problem could also be a lack of essential nutrients in your soil or water. If the method mentioned above gives no signs of improvement, you will need supplements. Look for a calcium-magnesium supplement. Apply about 5ml of Botanicare Cal-Mag Plus for every 3.7 litres of water and you should see an improvement in about a week.
Do not cut damaged leaves immediately. They probably won't return to normal, but it is a good way to see if the situation gets worse. This way, they will die before affecting the newer upper leaves. Once you notice the disappearance of the deficiency, you can cut the leaves in poor health.
Good luck for your grow 🤞🌱
