What problems could I run into with this setup? Anyone use aquaponics systems before? Contact me for a better description of my current grow plan. 😀

I haven't ran an aquaponics setup yet but have done a lot of research. I love aquaponics! I have kept several aquariums and high nitrogen levels are the biggest threat to your fish, but it is what your plants need the most. So balancing nitrogen is the tricky part of an aquaponics system. Other than that your bluegill can handle pretty dirty water and low pH that you need so I think you are set up for success! Good luck. I look forward to seeing how it goes.

I never used aquaponics but it takes a lot of fish to keep simple plants like basils or parsley. So according to me you could run into a nutrient deficiency issue. I also think that you will not abble to know which nutrients are bring by the fish : you will know the nutrient level but not the nuts composition so maybe you'll have not enough Pk for flowering for exemple. Last thing to me is that you can experiment ph fluctuation due to the plants and the fish needs but it's nothing hard to manage for someone who have fish tanks since a while

Clay pebbles can cause problems, they soak up like a sponge and take ages to leech out. Soil and Aeroponics dont mix get that seedling outa there QUICK
