How to reduce yield? (without reducing quality)

Can I prune down to 3 or 4 colas? When? Or better to let it grow normally and compost the extra? I've found it too easy to grow way more than I can use. Especially when I experiment with different varieties. I'm also thinking it might be easier to spot pests etc. with less colas?

You 100% can prune down to just a few main branches. If this is what you are trying to do I would top your plant at the third node. Then when those top two branches are ready to top again, do it, and you should have four main branches. Everything else can be cut off. This can be done around week 3-4 of veg. If you do this correctly you will be able to pull each branch down to a side of the pot and have four main branches. Even further you can also trim up the main four branches up to a certain point to give you only the top most of the plant producing bud. You don’t really want to trim much too far into flower though so this should be done early. Your plant would essentially be sending all energy to that top during flower. Hope this helps.
