I soaked the seed in ph’d water for 24hrs before placing in soil. Seedling popped out of the ground less than 48hrs after being planted. I don’t have enough room in my grow space for a fully grown second plant so my plan is to let this grow to 5 or 6 nodes and then top back to the 3rd node and attempt to grow as just a four cola plant. I think I should have room for the second plant if I grow it like this. Nothing to loose trying anyway. Rhino Ryder is one of my favourite stains. Nicest smell ever. I have a good few 🦏RR seeds so I can just keep trying until I get it right. The🦏 is a very tough auto so I think it should be able for this.

🦏 1: Seedling 🌱 is looking good. Not too much stretching so I think the lamp distance is correct. The Lux measurement next to the seedling is 25,000lux. Dampened down soil around the stem. Day 2: Everything looks good. Day 3: Happy and healthy. Day 4: Watered a small bit around stem. Day 5: Noticeable growth. Day 6: I moved the plant 5cm closer to the light. It’s now 75cm from the light and according to the light meter it’s reviving 33,000lux of light. Day 7: Looks much happier today after being moved closer to the light. Rhino 🦏 Ryder

Day 8: Week two off to a good start. It stretched a little more than I’d like so I added another layer of soil to the top of the pot so the stem isn’t as long now above ground. Day 9: Some light curling on the edge of leaves but only seems to be on the original cotyledons and not on the new growth. The humidity and temperatures are good and consistent. To be safe I moved the light 5cm away again. Day 10: Looks happier today. Obvious growth visible. Still no sign of that curling on any new growth. Day 11: Gave around a cup of water in close around the plant. More obvious growth. Looking good.🦏 Day 12: The top 2inches of soil was very dry so gave it’s first proper watering with just PH’d water. It took around 1.5ltrs including run off. Day 13: Looking good after yesterday’s watering. Day 14: Two weeks old today. Happy and healthy looking. No need for water today.

Day 15: Week 3 off to a good start. Third set of nodes just starting. Plant looks happy and healthy. Day 16: 🦏 Charging ahead. Day 17: I turned the pot around to try even out the light as it’s being shaded by the big plant beside it. Looks ok for water still. Day 18: Gave a full watering again tonight with small dose of nutrients (1ml CM, 1ml G) Day 19: Just forming its 4th set of true nodes. My plan is to top back to the 2nd true node and try grow as four colas. As this is an auto I’m conscious of the fact it could start pre-flowering any day now so I’m not gonna let it go anything longer than 22days before topping. It’s very sturdy looking already so I’d say it already has good root structure. Day 20: Still growing at a serious rate so I might go in for the topping tomorrow. Took some photos for the Fastbuds Summer contest. Day 21: I’m gonna wait one more day before topping. Looks good. I gave some water tonight. It wasn’t really ready for more water but I wanted it well fed before topping tomorrow. If I do see signs of overwatering I’ll wait.

Day 22: Day of the big surgery. I preformed the procedure 3 hours into the night schedule. The hormones would have returned to the roots during the night so the chances of stunting should be lessened. The plan was to cut this back to four mains but during the procedure after a long millisecond of thought I decided to go for just two mains instead. This grow has always only being an experiment. A way of trying to make use of the less than 1ft square bit of space I have to spare. So we’ll see how it goes. Hopefully it survives, I know this is very stressful for an auto. I dimmed the lights to 80% for the first 18hr life cycle. Day 23: After chopping off around 90% of the plants growth I really was expecting some serious stunting in growth for at least a few days, if not forever but this Rhino just seems to not give a shit. Day 24: This Rhino is a beast. There are zero signs of any slowdown in growth. 🦏 Day 25: I don’t mean to be repeating myself again but this Rhino 🦏 is a fucking beast. Day 26: Watered with light dose of nutrients (1ml G, 1ml CM). Took not much more than a litre including run off. Day 28: Four weeks old today and what a blinder this Rhino 🦏 has played this week after being chopped back to nearly nothing, it just roared and charged ahead. What a beast.

Day 29: Starting to see signs of pistils but will be giving Veg nutrients for another week. The plant looks super healthy considering the topping which only happened 7 days ago. There was no slowdown in growth at all. 🦏 Day 30: Rhino got a new roommate so he’ll be getting more light now with the big plant gone. Seeing loads of pistils forming. Day 31: Watered with light dose of nutrients (1ml G). Took around a litre. There are 8 leaves that need to come off as they are blocking bud sites of which there are few because of they topping. The plant is in pre-flower so I’m conscious of stressing the plant but they have to come off. Day 32: Removed two of the four biggest fan leaves. Day 33: I was probably a bit heavy handed but I’m hoping the Rhino is tuff enough to take it. I removed six more fan leaves. When removing these big fan leaves I open the growbox a few minutes before the lights come on and clip the leaves while all the plants hormones are still in the roots, which is where they go at night. This reduces chances of stressing the plant and slowing growth. I still reckon I need to remove another four but I definitely won’t do anymore defoliation in the next few days. Watered tonight with light dose of nutrients (1ml G, 1ml SR) Day 34: Probably as expected the Rhino just didn’t give a shit about the defoliation and it just looks as happy and healthy as ever. I have to say it again, this Rhino 🦏 is a fucking beast. I moved around an extra 4cm away from the light. Day 35: Removed around 10 of the lowest leaves. Also removed what will be popcorn buds on the new branches. Watered with nutrients (1ml G, 1ml SR)

Day 36: Week six begins and all looks well. The plant grew 15cm this week which is mad considering that over the course of this week I removed 8 large fan leaves from near the top of the plant and around 12 leaves and a few very small bud sites from the lower plant. This Rhino 🦏 is an absolute beast. I chose the Rhino Ryder for this task in the first place because of how resilient the strain is but it is exceeding expectations. I’ll continue to water with Veg nutrients for the next few feeds I think. Day 37: I had to remove the four biggest fan leaves again. They were blocking a huge amount of light. Watered with nutrients (1ml G, 1ml SR). Took 2ltrs including run off. Day 38: I need to go away for a few days and I’m worried about how bushy the plant is getting so I completely decimated it. I think this might have been even too much for the Rhino 🦏 in one go. I removed around 20 leaves. It’s kind of a fingers crossed 🤞 situation now I think. Day 39: Watered tonight with first feed of flowering nutrients (1ml B, 1ml SR). Took just under 2ltrs. Every second night when I water the soil is as dry as Gandhi’s flip flops. I have to go away for a few days so a friend will be watering. The plant is going to end up going three days between each feed for the next two feeds. I’m hoping with all the leaves clipped off last night it may manage a bit better with the less water. Fingers crossed. Day 42: Watered with just PH’d water. Took 2ltrs but with very little run off.

Day 45: I haven’t seen the Rhino in six days. It has went three days without water twice in that time. It’s looking good. Definitely not how I envisioned it would look at this stage of the experiment. Watered tonight with Nutrients (1ml B, 1ml SR). Day 47: Back to the two day feeds. Watered with Nutrients again (1ml B, 1ml SR). The plant looks like it could do with being watered every day so I might check it tomorrow night again and maybe give it a litre. I moved a few cm’s away from light. Maxed out now on this. Removed a few leaves with long stems. Day 49: Watered with Nutrients (1ml B, 1ml SR)

Day 50: Week 8 off to a start. Definitely not looking as I imagined when I topped but it’s growing well and I think there will be an okay yield considering that it’s only a 6ltr pot. Day 51: Had a power outage today so the Rhino 🦏 had 13hrs of darkness. Watered with a higher dose of nutrients (2ml B, 1ml SR). Turned plant around 180 degrees. Day 53: Watered with Nutrients (2ml B, 1ml SR). Clipped off six of the widest leaves. Day 55: Watered with Nutrients (1ml B, 1ml SR)

Day 72: Watered with Nutrients (1ml B, 1ml SR, 1ml GS). Rhino 🦏 is continuing to look super healthy. Some of the hairiest buds I’ve ever seen. Day 74: Watered with same dose of nutrients again. I can’t wait for this Rhino. Definitely another 3 or 4 weeks in it. Day 76: Watered with same dose of nutrients. There’s a good few lower leaves starting to go yellow. The fade has begun.

Day 85: Watered tonight for the first time in 3 days so it took a full 2ltrs with only a small bit of run off. Watered with half dose of nutrients. A good few pistils have turned amber but the trics are still a mixture of clear and frosty. I think I’ll just go with ph’d water for the rest of the grow.🦏 Day 87: Watered with just PH’d water. Took a full 2ltrs again so it’s still pretty thirsty. More lower leaves starting to fade. I clipped off a few leaves that were blocking light from some lower buds. Day 89: Watered with just PH’d water. Day 91: 13 weeks old today. Watered with just PH’d water. Plant looks awesome. 🦏

I have fresh green growth with new white pistils on mature buds. Plant is in the fade stage with leaves going yellow. Buds look ripe but there are still no Amber trichomes. What is this fresh green growth ? Should I harvest now and not wait for trichomes to turn Amber ?

This plant was an experiment in the corner of my grow space in a 6ltr pot. I was thinking if I got an ounce off it I would be lucky. It took 15 weeks and here I am now with 3 ounces of super sweet smelling Rhino Ryder 🦏
