I work with DWC, roots don't look good. Add as much oxygen as you can into your bucket, it should look like a Jacuzzi in there. The more the oxygen the better, can't go wrong with too much oxygen. If it smells, redo your water, could be root rot. (Adding more oxygen, redoing water, and beneficial bacteria will help, also prevent light leaks, and keep the water around 70F if possible, hotter temps means more bad microbes can grow in your water) Add beneficial bacteria like hydroguard.

The crop killer! You have a case of root rot sadly! , you can wash it away with a fair chance of success using peroxyde for hydroponic systems . To avoid root rot you need to keep your water temps at 70f also add a-lot of oxygen in your water with a good pump and a airstone , if you cant manage a water chiller which can cost alot you can throw a iced water bottle in there and watch how long it lasts and build a schedule around it . I created a simple radiation chiller with a coil , a pump and a water tank outside the growing zone for les than 40$ and i put iced bottle in it , this way i can skip a few days without cheking water also i use root inoculant like voodoo juice or hydroguard that provide beneficial bacteria that will ward off root rot and live in symbiosis with your plant providing food and minerals with this you can have water reaching 75f or more and not have root rot but its not cheap! On the good side it will definitely impact your rootzone and the key to a good harvest is all about the rootzone. I hope all goes well for you and dont give up dwc can be pretty touchy at first but gives amazing results when mastered. Happy growing 👍🏻👊🏻

I agree with PlaguedGarderns, the only thing I'll add is hydrogen peroxide is a good root treatment to get them cleaned sterilised for when you redo the water.

Because your roots are not doing good. I am not here best in hydro but I know that the roots should be clear not orange like yours which is a sign of .... something. Can be a bad oxygenation of the water , can be a fungus , can be due to the nutrients . Throw your mix away and refill your tank . And listen to ths hydro grower advices because they will be more valuable than mine
