harvest worries

One of the plants looks ready. I was told generally to add 1-2 weeks when you think its ready to harvest. But How should i proceed now? Flushing? drying out? when or should i even prune before cutting the plant down? What should my drying/hang space look like?

Plants maintain a certain amount of liquid. Don't try to withold water if it is ever near wilting. It won't really impact drying times too much, and in general you want to slow drying time down, not speed it up. Don't flush unless there is a buildup in your substrate. Have a reason. Flushing does not impact mineral content of flower. This is not an opinion. The plant has no excretion system. as far as the flower that has grown, what's done is done. There's no 'flushing out excess to improve flavor," because it is impossible. They do look fairly close. All you do know is continue to observe the plants. a 30-60x magnifier will help 'scope' the trichomes. Jeweler's loupe or currency checker are cheap options that work well enough. I'd suggest one with a glass lense. Pistil maturation -- turning color, coiling up etc... And, nug density - this one you don't want to repeat. I like to do it only when the other 2 are saying it is harvest time. I mostly just give a feel to the lower nugs of relevance. Make sure the lower stuff is ripened. I'm not saying you should get all handsy with the plant, lol. less is more for that last one. Plant will tell you when it is time. Leave the decision competely to what you observe on the plant.

Flushing has a purpose if you are experiencing toxicities. But not for harvest techniques. When I harvest I cut off all water leaves, big leaves I can get to without messing up buds. And hang the branches upside down in a closet with a humidity of 50-55% and temp of 65-70 degrees F, for 9-12 days. Then I trim the buds, jar them up with a Boveda 62 terpshield. Burp for a few days to a week. They will be good like this for at least 6 months or longer.

I'd say you have about a week left, I'd be tempted to water as normal but without nutes. For a longer dry which is usually best I'd leave as much leaf matter on as possible. Chop at the base and hang the whole plant upside down, in darkness with room temp between 18-21c, rh between 50-60%. Wait for smaller stems to snap before trimming.

By look, i would push plant on the right side for 10-14 days more. Flush is myth. Just stop feeding in soil now, plain phed water when needed ( at the end of cycle plants tend do drink less, so keep up with good watering regime , your wet/dry cycle can increase duration ). Plant on left needs a bit more, she is behind vs other. Start scooping buds, not leaves, for trichome maturity, but even by photos she is not done yet.
