They don’t look quite ready to me yet, but if you chopped them now, they would still get you high. However, if you’re aiming for the best potency and an upbeat effect while preserving yield, it’s best to get a jeweler’s loupe or a handheld digital microscope to inspect the trichomes up close.
You want to see mostly cloudy trichomes with very few clear or amber ones. Cloudy trichomes indicate peak THC levels, giving you that energetic and euphoric high you’re looking for. If you harvest when there are too many clear trichomes, the high can be more racy or short-lived. Too many amber trichomes, and the effects shift toward a more sedative, couch-lock experience.
Finding the sweet spot is much harder without being able to closely inspect them, so investing in a magnifier is a game-changer for dialing in your harvest time!
