Hello again, Going to be doing my weekly updates on Tuesdays. Entering into week 2 of Veg. Began feeding plants in week 1. They are getting Fox Farm Big Bloom (6 tsp) and Cal Mag(1 tsp) twice a week. Quite a bit of growth from week 1. Excited to see the girls continue to grow. I purchased an organic neem oil spray in hopes of being proactive in regards to pests and other infestations. Will be applying once a week. After doing research on the specific one, there may have been better options out there but if it gets the job done that is what I’m looking for. I have started looking into flushing, as my feeding chart calls for 3 throughout life cycle. Still unsure if I will be doing any stress techniques as I have not seen which are best or necessary for outdoor grows. I appreciate any and all feedback.

Hi all, the novice grower in me shined through this week. In my first feeding week, I overfed the plants. I fed each plant what i should have been feeding all. They have only had 2 feedings. It was definitely my mistake and not the nutrients. Learn as you go I suppose. Both were of Tiger Farm big bloom and Cal Mag. I did also treat the plants with a neem oil spray from bonide (I am doing once a week) Don’t believe this caused any of the damage. Although in the pictures, White Widow #3 is the only that you can really notice the burn, I have two other plants (not shown in this journal because they are different strains) that both showed signs of the burn. I flushed and backed off on any feeding. Only minor damage to 1 maybe 2 leaves on the plant. I plan to see how the plants continue to bounce back and will decide on feeding mid week. I will definitely do it as instructed lol. Please any advice is appreciated! Topping will be in the back of my mind in weeks to come as well.

Had a week off from nutrients to regain health. Will attempt to feed at low dose in next couple days. Cut off a couple leaves that showed signs of nutrient burn. Other than that I have not topped and haven’t done any other pruning. Any suggestions much appreciated!

All plants are girls! Pistils showed on all the plants this week. I knew the 3 Widows featured in this journal were feminized but the other 2 in my garden I was unsure. I really like the way the pistils look. Overall to me plants seem pretty healthy. Still taking it easy on the feeding. Leaves seem very dry to the touch but have a great color. Some leaves have minor white spotting that I believe is still being caused by the early nutrient burn. I don’t notice too much on new leaves. A couple days this week are scheduled to be very hot so I will leave in the shade when temps go above 85. After a lot of reading, mixed replies from this site, and some awesome insight from an instagram friend, I decided to top my plants. I topped all 3 and also did some pruning. I pruned leaves that did not look completely healthy and ones that were preventing light getting through. I may not have done everything proper or to the book but I am hoping for quality bud and fingers crossed quite a bit of it. I also topped because I don’t want my plants to grow over 5ft. Still hitting with a neem oil spray once a week in hopes to keep any pests away. I am very open to any feedback and advice. At this point obviously not much I can do if you say I shouldn’t have pruned as much or topped. The main advice I followed came from a very experienced grower with quite an instagram following so I don’t think my results will be poor. And with how early I am in the season, the plants have plenty of time to recover. The other two strains in my garden received the same treatment and look similar. Thanks again. Another Tuesday update.

First week after topping and pruning and all 3 seem to be reacting positively. Only concern is on White Widow 1, There are multiple purple stems. Widow 1 is the runt of the group and hasn’t had the growth the others have. No feeding this week as some leaves still show some white spots that had occurred during the nutrient burn. Lots of bugs seem to be around. I used the rest of the neem oil spray I had but plan to grab some more today after seeing some minor webs around the plants today. All in all I believe plants to be healthy. It’s a very long process and I hope it will all result in some beautiful quality buds.

Little late on updating this week so week 7 and 8 may look a lot alike. Overall plants look ok in regards to health. We had some very hot days this week. I have done my best to keep plants in the shade when temps go over 85. I did feed once this week and will be attempting to give a couple more rounds of nutrients. I notice leaves that have white spots on them. I also have seen quite a few bugs around the gardens so doing my best to maintain all things. White Widow 1 remains the runt - has very fragile and purple colored branches. I have definitely been keeping a close eye but I almost feel I have done what I can and its up to the plants at this point. I did notice some preflowers on my other strain as well as some sugar leaves appearing. In an attempt to ensure it wasn’t a lack of lighting causing flowering, I have left my porch light on the last few nights. Please any advice is so appreciated. Especially in regards to flowering. My area is receiving around 13 hours of sunlight a day, however my backyard gets shady around 5:30. I’m not sure if this could be sending the flowers into the flower cycle? I am ok if this is the case as it will allow me to harvest earlier. I just don’t want the plants to flower before they are ready. Based on all things I have read, preflowers around week 8 sound about right.

It appears the plants have entered the flowering phase. I am 2 months in and just started feeding all 3 nutrients this week. Based on my research it isn’t completely out of the ordinary for the plant to be showing these flowering signs now. Still receiving about 13 hours of sunlight a day but my backyard shades early in the evening so I’m not sure if flowering now is too soon but looks about right to me. Starting to feel like the finish is at least in sight at this point. Hoping for quality buds!!

Sorry 1st grow. Are my plants flowering too early? (2 months old and sunlight is still 13hrs) Is this what preflowers look like? Any recommendations on things i should make sure i do during the flowering phase? Do you agree I’m approximately a month in a half from harvest?

Looks like I can see some pre-flowers but you still have some time before flowering begins.. The solstice just happened for me here in cali. So preflower and flower is starting soon for me with the outdoor. Been told a seaweed foliar spray can help them not stretch so much during flowering (normally 2-3 times their preflower size) Wife is trying it out on our outdoor this year! Other than that man looks great.. keep growing! 👊
