Branches purple

Ciore
Ciorestarted grow question 5 years ago
Good morning I wanted to know why the branches of the leaves become purple? Is it a lack of nutrient problem or is it a temperature problem? At night the temperature drops to 17/18 degrees! Thank you in advance x the answer

Hi @Ciore There are certain strains that automatically grow with purple stems, more so when the seedlings are budding, or even once the plants start receiving cooler temperatures during the night. If your plant seems to be in good condition aside from the stems being purple, refrain from making any changes for a one or two weeks. The majority of the time the plants will turn green fairly quickly. Provided that your leaves appear to be healthy and there aren’t any of issues you are aware of, most likely the purple stems are nothing to be concerned about. If you suspect that your marijuana plant may have a nutrient deficiency, maybe because the plant growth has slowed down or the color of the leaves is fading, then your plant could be magnesium deficient. This can sometimes create purples stems. good luck mate 👍

It's genetic , check the plant linage ( clic on the strain name ) you will see that you have some Sativa's ancesters and sativa's are known to have dark green foliage and purpling stems and petiols . I fell like some original Kush can be also dark green with purple stems but I'm not sure , if so then your stain have plenty of Kush encestor too

Personally I’ve had purple stems in very young plants and cal-mag has always done the trick. (Might be dif as my plants were much much younger) best of luck 🍀👍

Hey there, I think it's the Temp. during night. It's the same with all of my plants. I always have purple coloured stems. Even in summer it's about 17-19°C max., during the night. (Deep basement) Another reason could be a K deficite, or genetics of your strain. Hope this helped a bit. Rock on! Good luck...✌️ O.
