USB Microscope vs 18x Macro-lense attachment

Is a USB microscope really necessary for checking on trichomes, or can a macro-lense attachment with 18x be sufficient? It seems like the USB microscope is a bit overkill.

Whatever gives you enough magnification to distinguish the trichome "ripeness" works.
Not needed of course but with one you dont have to ask ever again.

For the beginning it can be really helpful to use a loupe or a small microscope to check the trichomes.
Especially later in bloom, that’s the most reliable way to know when your plant is ready. Personally, if I’m not taking photos, I use a simple handheld loupe like this one

Plant is mature enough for harvest.
Once you grow for a while, you will "just know" when to harvest and can throw your microscope away!

Broken/damaged stem at nodeIs this a good enough job to repair a partial broken stem w/ cotton twine?
Stem broke at the base of the node. Still firmly attached/stands on its own before being tied. Could even move the whole plant when manipulated. The damage has to be 24 hours old.
