Humidity and Ph level

Legoman
Legomanstarted grow question 5 years ago
Having trouble getting my humidity in my hydroponics setup above 40%. Got some advice that I should raise my pH in my reservoir from 5.8 to 6.5 to better meet the plants needs in lower humidity. Is this true?

No, that information is completely false. 6.5 pH is on the verge of too high for hydro. You want to keep your pH around 6. As for the humidity, the plants will grow at 40%. I have had the same issue and the plants still show a nice growth rate. As your plants get bigger they will transpire more and the humidity will naturally increase. You can get a small humidifier pretty cheap on Amazon or hang a wet towel near your fan to help with the humidity. But increasing your pH can cause you a whole new set of problems. Good luck with your grow!

@legoman no mate that is not true plants in hydro need to stay below 6 to be able to uptake all of the required nutrients including the macro ones. to raise humidity try misting with a spray bottle or adding wet towels to the grow area
